Mariah Carey Confirms New Album ‘Here For It All,’ Releasing This Fall
Mariah Carey is officially back. The music icon has announced her long-awaited sixteenth studio album, “Here For It All,” set to drop on September 26 via Gamma, the independent label launched by music executive Larry Jackson.
Carey made the announcement in signature diva fashion—via a sleek social media video posted Monday morning that shows her strutting in stiletto heels before unveiling a teaser of the album’s title track.
What We Know So Far
Mariah’s first taste of the album came with the June release of “Type Dangerous,” a nostalgic, beat-heavy single co-produced with Anderson .Paak. The track sampled Eric B. & Rakim’s “Eric B. Is President” and featured a surprise cameo by MrBeast in the video.
Though the full track list hasn’t been revealed, Carey has hinted that the next single will be titled “Sugar Sweet.” Her cryptic posts and fan interactions on social media suggest more updates are coming soon.
A Seven-Year Wait Ends
“Here For It All” marks Mariah Carey’s first album in seven years, following 2018’s Caution, which featured a range of producers including Skrillex, No I.D., Mustard, and Timbaland. That project spawned singles like “With You,” “A No No,” and the emotional closer “Portrait.”
In a 2024 interview with Variety, Carey teased the new record, saying: “I’ve written some new songs. You know, I’m excited about it... I have to figure out which songs I’m going to do and which songs I’m not going to do. But I think I’m very excited about it.”
Behind the Scenes: A New Era at Gamma
This album marks a major moment in Carey’s career—not just musically, but business-wise. She’s now signed to Gamma, an independent label launched in 2023, in a move seen by many as a power shift.
L.A. Reid will reportedly serve as executive producer via his new company Mega. Speaking to Forbes, Reid called the move “a game-changer,” adding: “It’s one of our premier stars joining forces with an independent, self-contained company that is not associated with any major label.”
What’s Next for the Songbird Supreme?
With a fresh label, a new sound, and a proven track record of reinvention, Mariah Carey’s comeback is already making waves. Fans can expect a blend of classic Carey vocals with modern R&B and hip-hop influences—and likely a few more surprises before the September 26 release date.
