Major Designer Debuts Headline Milan Fashion Week SS26 from September 23–29

The countdown is on for Milan Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2026, taking place from September 23 to 29, as the Italian fashion capital prepares for one of its most anticipated seasons in recent memory. With a stacked lineup of high-profile debuts and milestone anniversaries, Milan is once again poised to shape the global fashion conversation.

This year’s Spring/Summer calendar features new creative leadership at several of Italy’s most iconic houses — including Gucci, Versace, Bottega Veneta, and Jil Sander — marking a week of fresh perspectives and historic transitions.

Demna’s Gucci Era Begins — Softly

Following the opening show by Glenn Martens’ Diesel, all eyes will be on Demna as he unveils his first collection for Gucci on September 23 at 7 p.m. While technically a transitional presentation, insiders expect a stripped-back approach that pays homage to Gucci’s heritage. The Georgian designer’s full vision will reportedly take shape in Gucci’s March 2026 show.

The fashion world is eager to see how Demna — formerly creative director at Balenciaga — will redefine the storied house known for maximalism and modern luxury.

New Voices: Bellotti at Jil Sander, Vitale at Versace

On September 24, Simone Bellotti will present his first collection for Jil Sander, ushering in a new era for the minimalist brand. Bellotti, who teased his debut with a conceptual music video and an original EP, is expected to blend fashion with performance art in a music-centric theme.

Later in the week, on September 26, Dario Vitale makes his Versace debut — though the brand’s presentation is set to be a more intimate affair and has not yet appeared on the preliminary public schedule. Vitale's arrival at the recently acquired Prada Group house could redefine Versace’s future as it shifts toward a more modern direction under new ownership.

Louise Trotter Makes Her Bottega Veneta Debut

On September 28 at 5 p.m., Bottega Veneta will showcase its first collection under Louise Trotter, former creative director at Carven. Known for her precision tailoring and innovative use of fabric, Trotter’s debut is highly anticipated by those eager to see how she evolves the Italian leather house post-Daniel Lee and Matthieu Blazy.

Armani Celebrates 50 Years with Historic Runway

Milan Fashion Week will culminate with a landmark moment on September 28 at 7 p.m., as Giorgio Armani celebrates his 50th anniversary with a grand runway presentation at Palazzo Brera, located in the city’s cultural and design district.

Two Emporio Armani shows are also scheduled for September 25, showcasing the broader scope of the Armani legacy across its different labels.

Prada Holds Steady, Industry Buzz Builds

Prada retains its signature 2 p.m. slot on September 25, offering consistency amid a sea of change. The house continues to be a bellwether for Milanese fashion, and with the momentum from recent collections, anticipation remains high for what Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons will deliver.

As Milan prepares for an industry-defining week, stay tuned for the full Milan Fashion Week SS26 schedule, expected to be released in early September.
