Timberland & Snipes Unveil “Rooted in Concrete” Collaboration
Timberland and Snipes US have joined forces to launch a powerful collaboration titled “Rooted in Concrete” — a limited-edition collection that reinterprets Timberland’s legendary 6-inch yellow boot while celebrating the communities that made it an icon. The drop also features a Harlem-set doc-style video and an accompanying campaign spotlighting the deep cultural connections between streetwear, resilience, and identity.
A Story of Roots, Culture, and Resilience
Although Snipes originated in Germany, its 2019 entry into the U.S. market — through the acquisition of Kicks USA and Mr. Alan’s — cemented its place in American streetwear culture. From the outset, Timberland has been a core part of the Snipes assortment. The yellow boot’s powerful cultural legacy—embraced by ’90s hip-hop legends like The Notorious B.I.G. and Nas—has made it a staple from Harlem to Brooklyn, West Philly to Chicago’s South Side, and beyond.
With the “Rooted in Concrete” project, Snipes and Timberland pay tribute to these communities, co-designing a version of the boot that embodies strength, pride, and creative endurance.
Reimagining the Iconic Yellow Boot
The foundation of the design remains Timberland’s classic 6-inch silhouette, crafted from premium waterproof leather with seam-sealed construction and anti-fatigue technology. True to form, it arrives in the signature Wheat colorway—a symbol of authenticity and timeless style.
The twist lies in the details: a striking debossed root motif that spreads organically across the toe box. This visual metaphor represents resilience and the ability to thrive wherever you’re planted. Release Details
The Timberland x Snipes “Rooted in Concrete” collection drops on November 13, 2025, available exclusively at Snipes stores and online. The limited-edition boot will be offered in the Wheat colorway, available in unisex adult and grade school sizes.
