Nintendo Confirms Bo Bragason and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Zelda and Link in Live-Action Film
Nintendo has officially announced the lead cast for its highly anticipated live-action adaptation of The Legend of Zelda. Bo Bragason will play Princess Zelda, while Benjamin Evan Ainsworth takes on the role of the heroic Link.
The announcement was made by Nintendo legend Shigeru Miyamoto on X (formerly Twitter), where he shared first-look images of the actors in costume. “I am very much looking forward to seeing both of them on the big screen,” Miyamoto wrote, referring to the duo as “Bragason-san” and “Ainsworth-san” in true Nintendo fashion.
A Long-Awaited Casting Reveal
Fans have speculated for years about who would bring the iconic characters to life in the first-ever live-action Zelda movie. With Bragason and Ainsworth now confirmed, excitement is building fast as production moves forward.
The film is being directed by Wes Ball (Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes), with a screenplay from T.S. Nowlin (The Maze Runner series). Longtime producer Avi Arad is co-producing alongside Miyamoto, signaling a collaborative effort between Hollywood and Nintendo’s in-house creative team.
