Physician assistant, model, fragrance founder and national titleholder, she steps onto the Miss New York USA stage as the newest chapter in a deliberately plural life.

She is a physician assistant, a model signed in New York and Milan, a fragrance founder, and a national beauty queen, and when someone asks what she does, she tends to smile before answering that it depends how much time you have. This coming weekend, Jenna Dykstra adds another chapter to an already improbable story, stepping onto the stage as a contestant for Miss New York USA 2026. To an outsider, a life this plural might read as restlessness. To Dykstra, it reads as alignment, the first time all the different parts of herself get to exist at once.

The Clinician Who Never Stopped Performing

Long before the sashes and the runways, there was a girl who lived for the stage. Acting and improv were her earliest loves, the school theater her natural home. Then adolescence arrived with its familiar pressure to choose something serious, something secure, and she set the dream aside. She does not describe that as a mistake. Trained as a Physician Assistant with a clinical background spanning ear, nose and throat, allergy, and more recently longevity and wellness medicine, she speaks about science with real affection. What shifted over the years was not her respect for medicine but her sense of scale. The exam room let her help one patient at a time, and she began to wonder how she might reach many more.

A Pivot Built on Translation

That question is now steering her toward investor relations and business development, where she intends to work upstream with the companies bringing medical innovation to market. Her advantage in those rooms is unusual: genuine clinical fluency paired with the ability to translate dense science into a value proposition an investor can feel. She can hold a high-level conversation with a researcher, then turn and make the same idea land for a boardroom. It is a rare bilingualism, and she is building her next act on it.

Four Days, One Crown, and a Global Runner-Up Finish

The credential that gave her that confidence arrived almost by accident. With only four days of preparation and no pageant experience, she entered the national competition on instinct and won, becoming Miss Supranational United States 2024. Months later she represented the country in Poland and finished as first runner-up in the world. She still describes the final night as the moment she recognized her younger self, the performer she had quietly shelved, suddenly unstoppable under the lights. The pageant was never the point. What it returned to her was.

Milan, Manhattan, and a Fragrance Called Endow

That reignited spark now fuels a modeling career she pursues on her own terms, signed in New York and represented in Milan, where a campaign for Ralph Lauren became her first major credit and a benchmark for the timeless, elevated brands she hopes to keep. Alongside it runs Endow, the perfume oil label she founded in 2023 and built entirely herself while working full time in medicine. The name was chosen with care, meaning to give someone a quality or an asset, and the philosophy is simple: confidence and presence delivered through scent.

The Thread Through Everything

Ask her what connects medicine, pageants, modeling, entrepreneurship, and business, and she answers without hesitation: curiosity, human connection, and the desire to make an impact. Each pivot, she insists, made the next one possible. Her days now move between castings, shoots, biotech meetings, fragrance orders, and fitness classes, a deliberately unrepeatable rhythm she far prefers to any single, tidy lane. Her guiding line is one she returns to often, that choosing courage over comfort is the only real way to grow, and that the fear rarely disappears before the leap, so the leap has to come first. Her next one is only days away, and it can be followed in real time on Instagram (@jennadykstraa).
